The Prizm Baseball brand has come quite a long way in five short months. Since debuting with the buzz-generating release of that maiden 2012 edition in April, the product has deftly etched its own enviable niche in the baseball hobby just like its Panini America counterparts in the NBA, NFL and NHL.

Armed with a mesmerizing array of Prizm parallels, a solid checklist of veteran and rookie autograph signers and the unparalleled power of its namesake printing technology, 2012 Prizm Baseball wasted no time in packing its initial punch. One week from tomorrow, the next big hit is coming.

Bolstered by new designs, new Prizm colors, new inserts and the first Prizm RCs and parallels of rookie sensation Yasiel Puig, 2013 Prizm Baseball goes live next Wednesday with a new installment that promises to deliver just as much “wow” as the debut. During final preparations for the release late last week, Panini America’s Mike Payne and Tim Trout spent some quality time quality controlling the product and many of their findings can be seen for the first time in the gallery that follows.

Enjoy this extended first look at 2013 Prizm Baseball and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance in the coming days for additional coverage.

  1. Have always been a fan of the Prizms with the cardstock and . Love the changes to the Top Prospect insert design and the Orange Prizms look great. Had a blast putting together the set last time and will definitely be busting a few boxes of these to keep that set building streak alive.

    Nice looking product!

  2. I have been a fan of the Prizm brand since its first release. This looks just as great as the others, but with some great improvements. I really like the idea of more color with numbering, plus they’re die-cuts! (I would have been just fine with the color) Its gives more chase to the products. Likewise, you can never go wrong with the gold and black inserts. I hope I get to break some of this.

  3. I like what I see so far, the colored Prizms look great. I’d like to see what you guys can do with adding mem cards to this product, maybe doing an exclusive mem-themed release with a similar box format to Momentum football. I think the extreme shine of these cards will contrast the duller jersey piece colors well. Thanks Tracy!

  4. WOW HOLY COW WOW !!! Looks like a true winner . The PRIZM’s & GOLD PRIZM’s just jump out at you . The Fearless are a great addition & the Prospects cards a sweet looking . Thanks for putting out a GREAT product . Will dry up fast !!! DJ

  5. Cool! Hey Tracy do you guys think you can make a printing plate video? Just the basics like them in production, how they are used, and describe how each color is unique to the card design (magenta, black, yellow, cyan). This would be REALLY AWESOME and I’m sure more people would appreciate it as well. Thanks and let me know what you think-
