One week from today, the first Select-branded NFL trading card in 17 years will hit card shops across North America packing more than just that history. It also will include a few more of the hobby’s favorite things, foremost among them stunning Prizm technology, an impressive checklist of first-time Rookie Card autographs and the fabled Hot Rookies and Hot Stars insert sets.

Panini America’s 2013 Select Football offers a bold revamping of a brand last made available to football collectors in 1996. Obviously, a lot has changed in our hobby since then, and Panini America product developers have engineered a new-generation Select that embraces all the modern amenities and polishes them with that distinctive Prizm shine.

Every 14-pack box of 2013 Select Football (packaged as two seven-pack mini boxes) delivers four autographs (including at least one Autograph Jersey RC). But in addition to offering signatures from the rookie stars you’ve grown accustomed to this season (such as Geno Smith, EJ Manuel, Giovani Bernard, Keenan Allen and more), Select also will introduce the industry’s first NFL-licensed Autograph Rookie Cards of breakout performers such as Marlon Brown, Matt McGloin, Zac Stacy, Benny Cunningham, Kiko Alonso and more.

You can check out many of these gems in the following gallery, a 108-card selection taken during yesterday’s Quality Control process. Enjoy the extended sneak peek at 2013 Select Football and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage as next Wednesday’s release date draws closer.

  1. This is a very well layered out set. The resurrecting of past products has done nothing but bring upon accolades. As weak as the 2013 Draft Class has been, this is one product that I’ll have to consider to purchase.

  2. This is great. Love McGloin’s inclusion and those Thompkins cards are awesome. Gonna have to add one to my collection eventually.

I like these way more than 2013 prizm.

That Trent Richardson, tho… too ironic.

  3. Amazing!!! Select was amazing in Basketball so I know football will be too! Do you know how many Gold Prizms per case Tracy?

  4. I love the new Select cards. Quick question, I opened a blaster of the Select Hockey and pulled a Patch Auto /50. Do you get a hit in each blaster or did I get lucky?
