As a result, we’ve devoted quite a bit of coverage on The Knight’s Lance in recent days pulling the curtain back on what the new release is all about.

We started last Friday with your first extended preview of the product and then followed up yesterday with an uncut examination of the set’s Kaboom! and Knights of the Round inserts. Today, we’re showing you a little bit of everything else within 2014-15 Excalibur Basketball in the Quality Control Gallery that follows.

Boasting unique content across all three SKUs (Premium, Blaster and Gravity-Feed), 2014-15 Excalibur Basketball delivers several popular aspects of previous Panini America releases (Kaboom!, Crusade, Dunk Co., Slam Ink, Majestic Marks and more) into an all-new release bolstered by autograph memorabilia cards, unique die-cuts and a crisp, clean design.

You can check it all out in images below. Enjoy the extended sneak peek and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of 2014-15 Excalibur Basketball.

  1. Some nice stuff here but clearly a tweaked version of crusade. Shame that panini went this way with crusade when the outcry from collectors seemed to be keep the crusade brand but make it an all chrome product similar to prizm or select. Kaboom is one of the few non numbered insert sets that is highly sought after so hopefully you have kept them rare in this release. The base cards look clean. Might hafta get in a few breaks for this.

  2. LOOKS AWESOME PANINI! Always love the different die cuts you come up with! Along with all those spectacular autographs! AWESOME JOB!

  3. I’m not really liking the base design. (I generally don’t care for computer generated backgrounds, going all the way back to 1990-91 Skybox!) but I DO like that you’ve included Sim Bhullar. I will get some packs, perhaps a blaster, hopefully I will pull his card. Are there any other late season rookies included? I’ve given up on hoping for Elton Brand cards, I’d have to chase the set more if he was included.

  4. Love these! Cool inserts. Lots of numbered cards. I really like the memorabilia cards in the set.

  5. Re: Knights of the Round – there is such a thing as TOO MUCH SPARKLE! Also, die-cutting is fine but when small pieces stick out, they’re just accidents waiting to happen…ie, the knight’s lance.

  6. Can someone please tell the “suits” at Panini to stop flooding the market with new products every year. This just seems like another hurried product that won’t hold any value. Please stop decreasing the value of the sports card!
