The countdown is on. Donruss Baseball is about to be reborn. Next week, Panini America’s 2014 Donruss Baseball releases to the hobby masses, marking the first time since 2005 that collectors have had a standalone Donruss brand to call their own. And in true Donruss fashion, the product delivers one of the most nostalgic, true-throwback thrill rides you’ll take this season.

You’ve seen some of what the product has to offer in recent sneak-peek galleries right here on The Knight’s Lance. Today, we’re showing you just about everything else thanks to the treasures unearthed during the recent Quality Control process.

Each hobby box of 2014 Donruss Baseball, out everywhere next Wednesday, delivers two autographs, one memorabilia card and some of the best designs in Panini America’s baseball history. Much has already been made about the product’s spectacular Dominators and Elite Series inserts. But the gallery that follows also details many of the set’s other fantastic facets, including the spot-UV sheen of the Breakout and Hall Worthy inserts, and the myriad nods to yesteryear evident in the Rated Rookies, No-Nos, The Rookies, Diamond Kings, Team MVP, Power Plus and Press Proof chases.

Enjoy the images — and the inevitable trips down memory lane — that follow and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage of 2014 Donruss Baseball.

  1. Very nice. I actually came across a 2005 Press Proof 5/25 of Vance Wilson this week going through collection. I’m glad to see it continue.

  2. I am loving this release more and more each time I see an update!! Brings back a ton of great memories. My first numbered card was a 1993 ELITE series Joe Carter (very exciting as it was numbered out of 10000!!!).

    Can’t wait!!

The buyback autos are a great touch!!! I hope there are more than what is in the gallery. Lots of great RC from Donruss’ past possible!!

Even the base cards are nice!

Any word on box bottom cards or puzzle pieces or LEAF Canadain versions????? Any wrapper redemption offers for binders or the like?

Hopefully those references evoked some more memories from those old enough to remember collecting the original Donruss!!

  3. Some of my favorite designs of all time brought back for this stuff. 2 questions though: 1) are those buyback autos or reproductions on the Gooden, Davis and Jeffries? 2) where are the Tim Hudson cards? Thanks Tracy!

  4. wow, this product is beautiful!!! not to mention the memories of a child collecting cards….way to amp up an old favorite with a twist of new technology….GREAT JOB PANINI!!
