One week from tomorrow, Panini America’s popular Excalibur Basketball brand — with its Kaboom! inserts and Crusade parallels and rich autograph and memorabilia content — makes its long-awaited hobby debut with the arrival of 2015-16 Excalibur Basketball Premium. The product that debuted last season as a Target-exclusive is ready for its hobby closeup, equipped with the calling-card inclusions that served Excalibur so well during its first year on the market.

Each hobby-exclusive premium box of 2015-16 Excalibur Basketball (Blaster Boxes and Gravity Feed packs remain exclusive to Target stores) will deliver three autograph or memorabilia cards, six Rookie Cards, six inserts, three numbered Crusade cards and two Excalibur parallels numbered to 70 or less. The superhero-inspired — and dastardly short — Kaboom! insert returns as a one-per-case chase and the Optichrome-enhanced Crusade parallels really need no introduction.

In the revealing Quality Control Gallery that follows, we showcase a little bit of everything that surfaced during the recently completed packout process for 2015-16 Excalibur Basketball Premium. Enjoy the sneak peek and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage.

  1. looks nice! Do you already know if Rasheed Wallace will be in any of your future products? i would be happy if he would just have base & Inserts 🙂

  2. In an era of collecting where the focus is so firmly on the autograph and memorabilia content in any given product, the KaBoom insert from last year’s Excalibur was arguably the most buzzworthy insert in any basketball release. Very pleased to see it return this year. Thanks Tracy!
