The Panini America Baseball Product Development team spent a good chunk of the last week quality controlling and packing out the jam-packed 2015 Contenders Baseball and the gallery that follows features many of the gems that surfaced during that process.

On average, each hobby box of 2015 Contenders Baseball will deliver six autographs, one parallel, six Class Reunion, six Collegiate Connections, six Passports, six Game Day Tickets, 48 School Colors and 48 Old School Colors. There are also randomly inserted Hot Boxes that will deliver seven autographs per box.

Other highlights of the product include:

  • An autograph checklist featuring 54 players who have never had an autograph on the market, including Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Victor Robles and Wei-Chih Huang.
  • On average, two boxes per case will deliver a Kyle Schwarber, Corey Seager or Yoan Moncada autograph.
  • Thirty percent of the product’s autographs will either be sequentially numbered to 99 or less or an SP.
  • For the first time ever, Contenders Baseball will feature the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team prospects.
  • Autographs of 2016 Rookies like Stephen Piscotty, Aaron Nola, Trea Turner, Luis Severino, Michael Conforto and Robert Refsnyder.

  1. This is going to be my Black Friday buy. I hope panini keeps this as their prospect heavy product and leave the rookie and vet cards for other products. We need some rarity in this hobby again. And finally this sounds like it’s delivering on box odds and numbered cards.

Just to be picky I wish the fonts were smaller so I can get more of the picture. Some good pictures just cut off alittle. But that’s just being picky. Looks good.
