One week from tomorrow, Panini America’s fabled Gridiron Kings Football franchise makes its royal return to the marketplace as a standalone brand for the first time since 2003. And judging by preliminary feedback, 2015 Gridiron Kings Football appears ready to reign, equipped with a spectacular assortment of colors, content and collectibility. We’ve done our best over the last few weeks here on The Knight’s Lance to tease the returning product. Today, we’re going to reveal a whole lot more.

Last week during the packout process, Panini America’s Chris Reed took command of the Panini America Twitter account to bring you live glimpses directly from the 2015 Gridiron Kings Football production line. In the Quality Control Gallery that follows, we showcase just some of what Reed saw that day. But we’re also sharing a whole lot more that he didn’t see.

On overage, each hobby box of 2015 Gridiron Kings Football will deliver one autograph card, one memorabilia card, seven Rookie Cards and three Rookie Red Frame parallels. The product’s work-of-art arsenal of subsets includes the likes of Royal Performances, Expressionists, Also Known As, New Aesthetic and Aficionado. All of that and more is on display for your viewing pleasure below.

But before we get to the gallery, here are just a few of the Twitter highlights you may have missed last week:

  1. One week from tomorrow soccer collectors will open the first packs of 2015 Donruss Soccer – hopefully. Can we expect a blog post regarding it today?

  2. Hey Tracy all the cards look awsome. Does this mean the checklist will be coming out in the next few days? Also do you know roughly how big the base set will be?

  3. Will Panini be releasing a Score Update or another set like that to make more base cards. I am a base card collector and there haven’t been any sets this year that have a big base set. There are a lot of good players that don’t have any cards. Most sets this year only make about 3-5 base cards per team and it’s the same players over and over again.

  4. Well, I’m still not receiving any updates from Panini and my TKL emails have vanished.

So, I am now checking in periodically. And WHAT a time to check in! GK has undergone a very impressive update; The artwork is really impressive, affording the set a unique feel, and the auto-mem’ issues are machine stamped and often have multi-color patches? Yes, please.
    Really nice job, Panini.
