The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2016 Elite Extra Edition Baseball

Seemingly everything about Panini America's popular prospecting product known as Elite Extra Edition Baseball has changed for 2016. New look. New logo. New content. New configuration. Indeed, when 2016 Elite Extra Edition Baseball arrives in hobby shops across North America next Wednesday, it will deliver a refreshing departure from the EEEs of the past while still delivering some of the first trading cards and autographs of baseball's most potential-packed fresh faces (including the first baseball autograph cards of the Mets' Tim Tebow).

The completely revamped product (five cards per pack, five packs per box) will deliver two autograph or memorabilia cards per hobby pack and each five-pack hobby box will yield eight autograph cards and two memorabilia cards. As you’ll see in the revealing Quality Control Gallery that follows, there’s a lot to like aesthetically about the new-look Elite Extra Edition. But there’s also a lot to like from a content perspective.

Each hobby case (20 boxes) contains three Prime Silhouette Autographs and 11 boxes per case will include an 11th autograph or memorabilia card.

  1. Just curious! When are you releasing your US box set? We have a group who always buys a few cases and it’s our favorite set of the year. Also, when are you releasing Contenders baseball. Thanks

    1. Just got you some information from our Baseball Product Development team: “We are releasing 2017 Stars & Stripes Baseball on 3/15/2017 with a configuration of 8 cards/5 packs/20 boxes per case. We currently have no plans for a Contenders Baseball release, but we do have Contenders autographed cards in this year’s 2016 Elite Extra Edition with College Tickets and USA Baseball Collegiate/18U and 15U National teams Tickets.”

  2. These deep-prospecting sets always have a huge following, definitely the kind of “store them and wait” kind of investment products which are fun (and potentially profitable) to watch develop over time. Thanks Tracy!

  3. I am also wondering when are the Team USA baseball Box sets being released for this year? Are they being made this year? or are you just making “Stars and Stripes”?
