The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2016 Immaculate Baseball (81 Sweet Pics)
Panini America’s ballyhooed Immaculate brand has come a long way since that first release arrived during the 2012-13 NBA collecting season. But it was that trailblazing debut, an absolute instant classic, that wasted little time in illustrating the key brand tenants that continue to drive every Immaculate release, regardless of sport: Unique and oversized memorabilia cards, key autographs from current stars, promising rookies and all-time greats, clean designs and high-thrill hits.
That’s what drove the product’s expansion into the NFL and, eventually, into baseball with a 2014 debut edition. In the years since, Immaculate Baseball has spent its time on the market delivering one historic hit after another. Next week, the hit parade continues with the release of 2016 Immaculate Baseball.
Set to arrive in hobby shops across North America on Wednesday, 2016 Immaculate Baseball delivers two autographs and three memorabilia cards (including one jumbo standard memorabilia card) in each box; each case delivers one jumbo prime memorabilia card.
Last week, while many of us were at the 2016 National Sports Collectors Convention, the Panini America Baseball Product Development team spent some quality time quality-controlling the product during the packout process — and was nice enough to capture the following images that surfaced.
