The Panini America Product Development and Creative teams collaborated last season to breathe bold, new life into the venerable Donruss Elite Football franchise, ushering in an exciting new chapter in Elite’s proud history. The complete overhaul included everything from a new product logo to new parallels to a bevy of well-executed new designs. The product was met by collectors with a warm embrace — and almost immediately heightened expectations for next year.

Well, next year is now — and 2017 Donruss Elite Football is set to arrive in hobby shops across North America in two short days. As you’ll see in the revealing Quality Control Gallery that follows, last year’s revamp continues to serve the product so well. On average, each hobby box of 2017 Donruss Elite Football (five cards per pack, 20 packs per box) will deliver two autographs, one memorabilia card, eight inserts, six parallels and three Rookie Cards (numbered to 499).

Look for the return of two of the most popular Donruss Elite inserts of all-time with Passing the Torch Signatures and Throwback Threads, each featuring both Single and Dual versions. Passing the Torch Signatures includes combos like Emmitt Smith/Ezekiel Elliott, Matt Forte/Jordan Howard, John Elway/Paxton Lynch and many more. Also, look for the rare Black parallel versions numbered to just one. Throwback Threads includes combos like Tony Dorsett/Emmitt Smith, Bobby Layne/Terry Bradshaw, Brett Favre/Sterling Sharpe and more.

Pen Pals and Pen Pals Duals return for the second straight year in Elite. The standard ink color for these gems is black ink, but also look for short-printed variations with blue ink, green ink and red ink.

Finally, look for other great autograph sets such as Turn of the Century Autographs, Elite Signatures, Impact Impressions and the all-new Team Lineage Signatures. Team Lineage contains triple autograph cards of Roger Staubach/Troy Aikman/Tony Romo, Don Majikowski/Brett Favre/Aaron Rodgers, John Elway/Peyton Manning/Paxton Lynch, Ahmad Rashad/Randy Moss/Stefon Diggs, Tony Dorsett/Emmitt Smith/Ezekiel Elliott and many more.

Check it all out amid the imagery that follows and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage.

  1. This might be the best looking version of Elite. I’m loving the material cards. I hope to hit an Elliott or Prescott. I’m a Steeler hater, but I’d love to pull that Bradshaw. The base cards look awesome too.

  2. Oh thank goodness, finally a release with the 2017 class shown in their NFL uniforms! I was pining for a release like this, Elite looks shiny and awesome as always. Thanks Tracy!
