The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 32 Images from 2010-11 NBA Season Update

The blinding brilliance of 2010-11 Gold Standard Basketball packing out this week has served to somewhat obscure the fact that another stellar Panini America hoops product -- 2010-11 NBA Season Update -- is also readying to dazzle collectors when it releases next week.

The blinding brilliance of 2010-11 Gold Standard Basketball packing out this week has served to somewhat obscure the fact that another stellar Panini America hoops product — 2010-11 NBA Season Update — is also readying to dazzle collectors when it releases next week.

Panini America basketball brand managers Aik Tongtharadol and Keith Hower pulled double duty this week at the company’s printing facility by quality controlling both products. We showed you the fruits of their Gold Standard labor on Tuesday. Today, we present the Quality Control Gallery for Season Update.

  1. Are the Durant, Ellis, and Humphries the design for the regular base set?? Also are there #/99, #/24, and 1/1 parallels in the base set this year? Thanks!

    1. To answer your questions:

      1) Yes, the Durant, Ellis and Humprhies cards do represent the base-card design.
      2) The regular parallels off the base set are: Silver #’d to 99, Gold #’d to 24 and Platinum #’d to 1.
      3) Keith Hower says “hello” and wanted me to ask about your Ersan Ilyasova collection.

    2. Love that Larry sanders set you got going very sweet!!! Im doing the same with Xavier Henry just found the black box prestige NBA draft class 1/1.

  2. The throwback thread cards look great. Most notably the Moses Malone one. Who doesnt like a great throwback players jersey card! Especially a nice swatch like that one. Great job!

  3. I CAN’T believe you guys got Monta Ellis to sign. First Grant Hill, now Ellis. You guys are the best.

  4. I love the X-Man in the Suns Throwback Threads but I have to call shenanigans on the Chambers in the Jazz uniform. How about an X-man/Tom Chambers Suns dual-jersey card? You can go even older-school to a Sonics version (Hey, I lived in Seattle 15 years and while I am a life-long Suns fan I still have to show some love to the team stolen from Seattle).
