The Panini America Weekend Reveal: 2012 Rookies & Stars Football Greatest Hits

Bright and early Monday morning, Panini America officials will begin packing out perennial pigskin favorite 2012 Rookies & Stars Football, the company’s fourth NFL-licensed trading card product of the 2012 season following on the heels of promising precursors Prestige, Score and Elite.

This weekend, in an effort to ready collectors for Rookies & Stars’ release, The Knight’s Lance will preview a few sweet inserts from the product, beginning with the 30-card Greatest Hits, an in-your-face tribute to some of the game’s top defenders with impactful two-photo fronts.

In a hobby that understandably places a premium on the offensive skill positions, it’s nice to see the likes of Patrick Peterson, Charles Woodson, Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware and more get their due in this decidedly defensive insert set.

Enjoy this sneak peek and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance tomorrow for a preview of 2012 Rookies & Stars’ Statistical Standouts insert.

  1. Love a set dedicated to defenders In fact, I evening the name, “dedicated defenders” …you can use it if you footnote me on all packaging. 🙂
I’ve always enjoyed the R&S product…take it to another level, Panini!

  2. Now everyone knows that James Harrison will destroy anyone thats in his sight!! What a set I agree these autos will be sick! Tracy will they be doing autos and prime patches for this??

  3. Awesome, awesome, awesome! Tracy, here is a thought for you, Carlos, D.J. and Jason…if you want to reach outside of the collector’s market, why don’t you work with each NFL team to have official Panini NFL trading card day at each stadium on a select day by handing out a Panini team pack of each home team (random players with one keynote player from each team) for the first “X” amount of kids 12 or under? For instance, if you get the RGIII card, ou get additional prize, etc. Run the program until all teams have had their first home game. You could do it for all the sports…you know that these pro teams are always looking for unique promotional products…What a vehicle to get trading cards, YOUR trading cards, in front of our youth! 🙂

    Just my 2 cents!

  4. Wow! I love the layout and design. You guys were spot on with Prestige, Elite, Score and now it seems Rookies and Stars when putting a product together. The design team deserves a huge raise this year! Great job by you Tracy for displaying this
