The 10 Kevin Durant Cards Guaranteed to Leave You Feeling . . . Thunderstruck

It's that jaw-dropping feeling you got when you first heard, for example, that NBA superstar Kevin Durant dropped 66 points in a game at Harlem's historic Rucker Park last summer. Or when you watched him lead the NBA in scoring -- thrice. Or when you watched him score 39 points against Memphis in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals last May. Or when you watched him score 34 points and grab 14 rebounds Wednesday night in leading the Thunder into the NBA Finals for the first time.

Denotatively speaking, the word “thunderstruck” means to be astonished or dumbfounded.

It’s that jaw-dropping feeling you got when you first heard, for example, that NBA superstar Kevin Durant dropped 66 points in a game at Harlem’s historic Rucker Park last summer. Or when you watched him lead the NBA in scoring — thrice. Or when you watched him score 39 points against Memphis in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals last May. Or when you watched him score 34 points and grab 14 rebounds Wednesday night in leading the Oklahoma City Thunder into the NBA Finals for the first time.

It’s also the feeling you’ll get in just a few seconds when you revisit each of the 10 cards in the special Thunderstruck set that appeared in Panini America’s September release of 2010-11 Elite Black Box Basketball.

The unique trading-card tribute to Durant, one of four Panini-exclusive spokesmen alongside Kobe Bryant, Blake Griffin and Kyrie Irving, continues to score big — like the man himself — with fans who never tire of his majestic on-court feats. Each of the 10 cards in Thunderstruck features a bold, beautiful signature — unmistakable evidence that Durant is just as brilliant with a paint pen as he is in the paint — and is limited to just 10 copies.

For those of you prepared to be thunderstruck by Durant one more time, here’s the can’t-miss gallery:

  1. Dang Tracy, there you go again making me salivate on myself! First you show me my favorite football player Aaron Rodgers Gold Standard auto yesterday and now you show me 10 sweet autos of my favorite basketball player? LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! I should just write Panini off on my tax return next year as much money as i spend every week on your product! I LOVE every minute of it though brother! Keep the Aaron Rodgers and Kevin Durant autos coming. Keep up the great work guys!

  2. These autos are INCREDIBLE!!! Big, bold, THUNDEROUS. The design and pen selection go perfectly with the theme IMO. Pretty sure folks are going to be tripping over each other when these suckers hit the shelves. Great job, Panini!

  3. Although KD is in my divisioin, in my conference, and should of been picked by my Blazers, there is no underestimating the power of the Durantula.

EBB looks like another great original Panini product.

  4. With a different picture on every card, it’s like getting a 1/1 no matter which auto you pull. Hope to see something similar in the great hockey products of Panini.

  5. Those are amazing, I love the design and you guys used some awsome pictures of Durant. While I still am sore about the loss of the Sonics I am a Durant fan and totally amazed with these cards.

  6. Hey Tracy, can you tell me whether or not Durant signed any of the 2011 Adrenalyn Promo cards from the Nationals? I just picked one up that has an simliar auto with the same type of paint pen.

He said that he recieved it autographed directly from the Panini booth, could this be true?

The seller I got it from has a long and honest history. But, when I asked a couple of dudes that were there in Chicago and had a booth about this auto, they had not seen any of them like that at the convention.

    1. Caleb,

Scott here and I wanted to jump in and confirm that Kevin DID NOT sign any of the Adrenalyn promo’s for us and they WERE NOT included in the National wrapper redemption packs.

      Hope this helps.

  7. O yeah now thats what im talking about!!! Last night I watched my boys take it to The Spurs 1 more time to Finally go to The Finals,I am so pumped about it!!!
