Thunder Storm: Kevin Durant Autographs Signed, Sealed and Soon to be Delivered

It's been a busy couple of weeks for Oklahoma City Thunder überstar Kevin Durant.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Oklahoma City Thunder überstar Kevin Durant.

During that span, Panini America’s newest exclusive trading card ambassador has averaged more than 26 ppg game while leading the Thunder to five victories in six games. And when he wasn’t helping Oklahoma City bolster its playoff position, he was busy leaving his mark behind the scenes — pen in hand — on an absolutely stunning array of new Panini America basketball cards.

Durant’s handsome handiwork — the drool-inducing results of his first extensive trading card signing with the company — is sure to be well received by those collectors who either a) pulled a Durant redemption card from 2010-11 Absolute Memorabilia, b) will pull his live Significant Signatures autographs from 2010-11 Classics, or c) are lucky enough to find one of those sweet Private Signings cards (see gallery below) from a future Panini America launch.

That appropriate response to seeing the images that follow is likely to be the same one used to describe seeing Durant himself in action: “Wow!”

  1. I love KD! I’m glad to see more of his autos w him in his Thunder jersey! If you have an abundunce of these layin around you can unload one on me if you need to lol! 🙂 Great lookin KD cards tho; I’m impressed!!

  2. Kevin Durant is my favorite player and i am so happy Panini got him on there roster of spokesman!!! Other than his rookie year, there really isnt alot of his autos out there. Great work Panini and i really hope im lucky enough to pull one of these cards!

    1. You’re welcome and thanks for the kind words. I’ll be sure to share them with our design team. The ultimate destination for that one has yet to be determined. Stay tuned, though.

  3. There aren’t too many better than KD in the Association right now, so this is big for Panini. Def liking the on-card auto’s. I’m also glad you led with the Classics Significant Signatures. Classics was one of the most underrated products of 2010. I’m looking forward to 2011 Classics.

  4. I love how some guys have a “lazy sig” and a much nicer one. (looks in Rondo’s direction). The significant signatures with the sig on the white strip looks great.

  5. Nice to see the other Panini spokesperson has signed. What about Kobe? When can we expect to see auto’s from Rookies and Stars and Prestige and other lower end products come out?

  6. I don’t understand how Panini can have Durant as an exclusive signer/spokesman and promote the heck out of that deal….only to include redemption cards in products rather than LIVE autos!!??

    1. That’s a fair point. In the case of Durant, that was and is a huge deal for us and we’re thrilled to have him. The fact is we simply didn’t have time to get his on-card autographs in advance of pack out on Absolute Memorabilia. We were able to act fast and get him in Timeless Treasures the product before because we already had the cards produced.

His Significant Signatures autos will be live in Classics that’s packing out today and we’ll do everything we can to continue that trend.
