At various glorious points tomorrow, hobby shops across North America will open for business on a wild, welcome new-release Wednesday and offer to their customers the first crack at Panini America’s 2012-13 Limited Hockey. But in an effort to give you an early idea of what you can expect from this year’s Limited, we just this morning pulled two random boxes, excitedly opened them and went card-by-card with camera in hand.

This particular two-box thrill ride revealed a great cross section of Limited’s wares, including a few Phenoms autographs, one of the sweet Limited Travels dual-piece memorabilia cards, an absolutely sick prime memorabilia card of Jonas Enroth, an Adam Henrique parallel numbered to 25 and so much more.

But instead of us simply telling you what we pulled, why don’t we show you. Oh, and after the gallery, we’ve included the complete product checklist for your perusal, too.

Here’s the checklist: 2012-13 Limited Hockey Checklist

  1. Cards look great – love the Enroth! Hope my Sabres can get in gear and starting stringing some wins together! Thanks for what looks to be another wonderful product.

  2. Looks like a nice product, I am curious about the 12-13 rookie redemption cards though, are they players that played last year or are they going to redeemed for next years rookie crop?

  3. I am really enjoying the look of this year’s product. I’m not sure why, but I have always enjoyed cards that feature different teams a player has played for. The look of those limited travel cards is great.Overall the design is just nice. Not too much, not too little. They make for great looking cards. Thanks for the images

  4. Limited is a great program regardless of the sport, excellent treatment for the hockey version right here. Thanks Tracy!

  5. Tracy,
Can Panini please clarify what the rookie redemptions are for. I thought the rookies that debuted this season(12-13) would be included in next years product with next years rookie class too. However with these redemptions does that mean that I would have to get the Florida Panthers redemption card from this years Limited in order to get a Huberdeau Limited RC, or will his rookie patch auto be in next years Limited? I think there is a little confusion right now for collectors.
As always thanks for the help, this is my favorite product and want to make sure I am clear on how the 12-13 rookie lineup will be featured.
    Thanks,
    T

    1. From Chris Barr, our NHL Brand Manager: “The redemptions will be for special Limited cards of rookies playing this year. They should be qualified as XRC cards. The true rookie cards will debut during the 13-14 hockey card season.”
