Last Friday we tipped the weekend off right with a smashing sneak peek at 2011-12 NBA Hoops Basketball and promised an expanded examination of the first NBA card set since last September’s release of 2010-11 Elite Black Box. Today we make good on that promise.

Above you’ll find a splendid and revealing video shot Friday at the Panini America printing facility that includes exclusive footage straight from the production line and from the quality control room, where Panini America NBA brand developers Keith Hower and Wes Elliott provide more insight on 2011-12 NBA Hoops. Below, you’ll find 34 additional images that we didn’t show you on Friday.

Enjoy this extended sneak peek and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage.

(Oh, and thanks as always to the deft cinematic stylings of Tom “The Ripper” Key for his work on the video.)

  1. Keith your name sounds familiar were you a columnist for Beckett magazine. Hoops use to belong to Skybox. Then Fleer bought skybox. Did Donruss get Hoops after Fleer folded?

Lin’s 1st official NBA autograph card in Knicks uniform along with a shot at Kobe autos should make this a great product to pursue. And you can’t beat the price point

  2. I’m still dissapointed to hear that there will be no base rookie cards in the set. I mean really, out of 279 base cards you couldnt find room for the rookies? And dont give me that excuse of no time for a rookie photo shoot. You guys got Chris Paul in a Clippers uniform and Ricky Rubio in a T’Wolves uniform, and essentially every new free agent to sign with a new team in their respective new uniform.

  3. What is the insertion Rate on Autos in Retail 36 count boxes and What will the Blaster Boxes have in them ? Thanks. Nice Set by the way.

  4. havent seen the boxes yet, much less the packs… but it could be so helpful if you could print out the odds of the inserts and parallels seeing that these are not numbered sets.
