So it comes as no surprise that once again this season — for the second straight year — Panini America and Pepsi would join forces to help promote Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week voting and Panini America NFL Rookie trading cards.

The payoff for collectors and NFL fans everywhere will be some sweet virtual cards that will be highlighted on the NFL Facebook page each week in a special Pepsi Rookie of the Week gallery, across social media platforms and NFL.com. Each week during the 2012 NFL season, Panini America will feature the five Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week Nominees in a different Panini America football card design. (Stay tuned to The Knights Lance, the Panini America Facebook page and the Panini America Twitter account to find out about new Panini America designs and what weeks they will be incorporated into the Pepsi Rookie of the Week promotion.

Vote for the NFL Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week each week during the NFL regular season. Then share the image of the Pepsi Rookie of the Week Nominee you voted for on your Facebook page, on the Panini America Facebook page and on Twitter. Be sure to use the #PepsiROW hashtag and mention @PaniniAmerica to be eligible to win prizes throughout the season.

We’ll have more details as the season progresses. But for now, here are your Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week Week 3 Nominees:

  • Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton caught four passes for 113 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown reception in the Colts’ 22-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
  • Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck completed 22-of-46 passes for 313 yards and two touchdowns as the Colts lost a tight game to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 22-17.
  • Washington Redskins RB Alfred Morris rushed for 78 yards on 17 carries and scored a touchdown in the Redskins’ 38-31 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
  • Minnesota Vikings K Blair Walsh recorded another impressive day going three-for-three on extra-point attempts and booting a 52-yard field goal in the second quarter to help the Vikings edge the San Francisco 49ers, 24-13. Walsh’s 52-yarder made him the first kicker in franchise history to have three straight games with a field goal of at least 50 yards.
  • Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 10-of-21 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns in the Seahawks’ 14-12 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

  1. Andrew Luck easily. If he had the same scoring system as Wilson (where interceptions count as touchdowns), Luck would have had 3 TDs!

  2. Just cant put myself to vote for Wilson…that was an int lol. If that had actually been caught the right way..its an obvious choice for wilson…but I am going with Andrew Luck who continues to improve on a weekly basis.
