So it comes as no surprise that once again this season — for the second straight year — Panini America and Pepsi would join forces to help promote Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week voting and Panini America NFL Rookie trading cards.

The payoff for collectors and NFL fans everywhere will be some sweet virtual cards that will be highlighted on the NFL Facebook page each week in a special Pepsi Rookie of the Week gallery, across social media platforms and NFL.com. Each week during the 2012 NFL season, Panini America will feature the five Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week Nominees in a different Panini America football card design. (Stay tuned to The Knights Lance, the Panini America Facebook page and the Panini America Twitter account to find out about new Panini America designs and what weeks they will be incorporated into the Pepsi Rookie of the Week promotion.

Vote for the NFL Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week each week during the NFL regular season. Then share the image of the Pepsi Rookie of the Week Nominee you voted for on your Facebook page, on the Panini America Facebook page and on Twitter. Be sure to use the #PepsiROW hashtag and mention @PaniniAmerica to be eligible to win prizes throughout the season.

We’ll have more details as the season progresses. But for now, here are your Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week Week 4 Nominees:

  • New England Patriots RB Brandon Bolden rushed for 137 yards and scored one touchdown on 16 carries in the Patriots’ 52-28 defeat of the Buffalo Bills.
  • Cincinnati Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict led the team with eight tackles, two tackles for a loss, one sack and one pass break up in the Bengals’ 27-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
  • Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was 26-of-35 passing for 323 yards and also rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown. He also helped engineer a drive in the final minute to set the Redskins up for the game-winning field goal to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-22.
  • Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill broke the franchise single-game passing record for a rookie by throwing for 431 yards, which also ranked second in NFL history for single-game passing yardage by a rookie.  He threw one touchdown in the Dolphins’ 24-21 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
  • St. Louis Rams K Greg Zuerlein was four-for-four on field-goal attempts, including a 58-yarder and a franchise long 60-yarder, in the Rams’ 19-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He became the first kicker in NFL history to make a 60-yard field goal and a 50-plus-yard field goal in the same game.

  1. Who do you got Tracy??? This is a hard pick man…I am narrowing it down to the Pats running back who I had never heard of but had such a great game and then down to RG3…but I guess I will have to go with the guy who led his team on a winning drive. RG3 is my pick. Even though I think the Pats RB will win.

  2. RG3 should not win every time just because he is well-known! Some of the unheard of rookies shine and don’t even get noticed.

  3. Did anyone look closely at RG III’s face shield to see how focused that picture is? You can see the reflection in it. Maybe I’m just a photography nerd, but that’s cool. I agree that RG III should not win every time, but he is having a decent start to his rookie year overall. Just hope he doesn’t do well this week-my friend has him in our fantasy league and that’s who I’m playing. I am hoping to see the Eagles’ Fletcher Cox or Mychal Kendricks on here for some future stellar defensive performance!!
