He became the first rookie passer in NFL history to begin a season 2-0 without committing a turnover. Wentz’s numbers on the field to date (43-of-71 passing, 468 yards, three touchdowns) won’t necessarily blow you away. His numbers in the football card arena, however, tell a completely different story.

Just two days ago, Wentz’s 2016 Spectra Football Jersey Autograph Gold 1/1 sold for $1,100. Two days prior to that, his 2016 Spectra Football Radiant Rookie Patch Signatures Gold 1/1 sold for $925. Do a quick search of completed items on eBay and you’ll find similar eye-popping results on Wentz cards from many Panini America products.
$760 for one of his Cracked Ice autographs from 2016 Contenders Draft Picks Football. $700 for a 1/1 autograph from 2016 Origins Football. $514 for his Turn of the Century Autograph 1/1 from 2016 Donruss Elite Football. $466 for a rare autograph memorabilia card from 2016 Donruss Football. $375 for a Freshman Fabric Gold autograph memorabilia card from 2016 Certified Football.
In the gallery that follows, we provide a short list of some of Wentz’s greatest football card hits so far this season. It’s still early, but if Wentz’s winning ways continue, the most-watched Eagles rookie since Mark Wahlberg played Vince Papale is sure to make these early numbers pale in comparison.
In the meantime, though, here’s a quick look at 11 Wentz cards that, combined, have sold recently for more than $7,400.

  1. Welcome to WENTZYLVANIA!!
Nice to have something to cheer for after 2+ horrible seasons.
It is also good to have some exciting rookies to help drive the football card market a bit as well.

  2. Once he plays some Real teams the whole world will know what kind of QB he really is…..That will settle his stuff down. After the hits he keeps taking, his cards will be in a bin with RGIII cards
