Whose Baseball Autograph is This? Another Can’t-Miss Contest from Panini America.

For the better part of the last year we've watched from the front row as the Panini America product development teams have created some of the best basketball, football and hockey trading cards on the market. Finally, we get to see them work their magic on baseball.

For the better part of the last year we’ve watched from the front row as the Panini America product development teams have created some of the best basketball, football and hockey trading cards on the market. Finally, we get to see them work their magic on baseball.

First up on the to-do list are 2011 Donruss Elite Extra Edition and 2011 Playoff Contenders, products for which autographs began arriving in house last week, just days after the announcement that Panini America reached a multi-year trading card agreement with the Major League Baseball Players Association.

So as a fun way to keep baseball collectors informed on the progress of our newest sport’s newest products, we felt that a new baseball-only edition of the “Whose Autograph Is This?” contest was in order.

Below are nine recent autograph arrivals slated for to appear in upcoming baseball products, primarily the Sweet Signs insert in 2011 Playoff Contenders. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to tell us who they belong to.

We’ll give you until the end of the day Friday to get your answers in (simply leave all nine answers as one comment to this post). The person with the most correct answers will win a nice, baseball-themed prize pack from the Panini America marketing closet. In the event of a tie, two winners will be drawn at random from all eligible entries.

(Oh, and we’ll wait until the contest closes to approve all comments. No need to let everyone else see your answers beforehand.)

Got it? OK. Now, tell us, whose autographs are these?

  6. First of all, I want to thank everyone for participating in this contest. Trust me when I tell you, there will be many more baseball-related contests in the future.

This particular contest proved to be rather difficult. Congratulations are in order for the winner, Mitchell Kennedy, who correctly identified five of our mystery signers. Jordan Lawver came in second with three correct guesses and Brad B. finished third with two correct guesses.

Just so we’re all on the same page, the nine signers were:
    Chris Wallace
    Forrest Snow
    Kendrick Perkins
    James Baldwin
    Kevin Quackenbush
    Brandon Loy
    Abel Baker
    Asher Wojciechowski
    Gabriel Rosa

Thanks again for participating. Mitchell, be sure to check your inbox for an email on how to claim your prize.
