LOS ANGELES — As you’ll see in the video below wrapping up Panini America’s action-packed Saturday at the 2011 NFL PLAYERS Rookie Premiere, Scott Prusha is “jonesing” to give something special away to those collectors who followed the day’s events exclusively on The Knight’s Lance.

Turns out the prize Prusha has in mind is one of our best prizes to date: A Carolina Panthers hat worn and autographed by No. 1 overall pick Cam Newton during the event.

So, how can you win? Easy, and we’ll tell you after you watch the following brief video . . .

To be eligible to win this awesome autographed Newton hat, simply post comments on your favorite photos from our exhaustive gallery chronicling a full-throttle Saturday inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. We’ll give everyone through Monday to comment and then we’ll select one lucky winner at random.

Oh, what the heck. We’re feeling so amped up after a thrilling four days in Southern California that we’re going to give away more autographs from 2011’s top rookies. Two additional commenters will receive Newton-autographed 8 by 10s; seven more will receive 8 by 10s signed by fellow first-round picks.

That’s an amazing 10 prizes total, just by commenting on your favorite Panini America photos from the 2011 NFL PLAYERS Rookie Premiere.

Have fun, good luck and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of the marquee event, including exclusive interviews with Newton, Mark Ingram, Marcell Dareus, Von Miller and more.

  1. i like the photos on the whole nameplates signed ready to be cut up and the cards signed but not complete yet. great coverage and i cant wait to bust some products!!!!

  2. You”ll are so awesome baby rookie premeire this year is on fire congrats on being able to hang with some potenial star althetes of the future keep the good times rolling Cam Newton is ready to take control of the Carolina Panthers hope he does great.

  3. Would love to replace my ageing Panthers hat with the Cam auto, I doubt it would be a daily wearable! My favorite photo(s) has got to be all the auto letter patches just waiting to be put into play so I can bust some wax latter this year and pull 1 or more?? I’m pretty sure I could find a frame for an 8×10 also, it would be cool to get an early jump with an auto like that and then follow their season hopeing for superstar stats! Thanks Panini and Knights Lance for all the great chances to win big!

  4. As a Bills fan, love to see those first few shots of the new guys signing their jerseys. My favorite shot has to be the picture of Marcell Dareus in his new #99 uniform, nearly filling the entire frame of the shot as he signs. Love the shot of his #99 Bills helmet, too. Nice sigs, nice shots.

  5. So much to like here. From the great on card autos to the sea of nameplates. But I really like the cards that the players got the opportunity to draw on. You can see their personalities really come out like the one where Cam Newton is doodling on someone else’s card, but most striking for me is Kyle Rudolph writing a saying from his High School days at Elder. The pride in his face showing that card and the fact that he still carries those memories as a major influence in his life is impressive and very personal.

  6. I LOVE every picture you have put so far. They get me so excited to get the new rookies cards that i cannot stand it!! My favorite pictures, though, are the ones showing the players signing cards ready to be put into products hot of the products.

    Thanks formthe contest Panini!

  7. Sorry i meant hot off the press not hot of the products. And i also met thanks FOR THE contest.

    Thanks again!

  8. This is such a good way to shut up all the people who were trying to give you guys crap for SUPPOSEDLY not having Newton and Ingram autos… Haters gonna hate I guess. Love all the card and auto teases that you have posted over the last few days… I’m sure I’m not the only one excited for the wave of 2011 Panini Football products that will be coming out in the coming months! Thanks for the contest and for gathering all the stuff this weekend that we will be chasing!

  9. Love the video. When I heard that tracy was leaving Beckett I wondered why. But how can you turn down a job like this

  10. I really like the Kyle Rudolph photo where he is paying tribute to Elder with the “What I had I gave, what I saved I lost… forever” quote. That would be an amazing inscription autograph!

  11. Who wouldn’t want that cam hat. O know I would being down here in nc. Thanks for the contest

  12. There is nothing way cooler than the Pen Pals! Not only do you get the stars of the future of the different teams, you get them all together on one card and NO STICKERS or REDEMPTIONS (at least, I hope not 🙂 ). Those are without a doubt, the cream of the crop of autographs that Panini did over the week.

  13. I LOVE LOVE all those nameplates gathered together and autographed. I look forward to the release of threads every year, as the letterman cards are some of my favorite cards. I think it’s the first time I’ve seen the nameplates uncut, and that is AWESOME!! I think it would be a great idea as a redemption to have an uncut nameplate auto inserted into the threads product.

  14. Great idea with the contest guys! Everything is looking really good, I really like the signed letter patches that are ready to go! Can’t wait to open some boxes!

  15. My fav pic, but I love all of em, is the Minnesota Vikings Kyle Rudolph pic..look at the smile and that tells you he had a great time signing for Panini! Awesome inscription and hope it finds its way on a card! Thanks Panini!

  16. Best part is seeing how much fun the players are having. growing up collecting cards and know they have their own, cant feel much better. also the quality of the cards keeps up with the Panini tradition

  17. I love the PenPal autos… Very clean look and great for on card autos. I ecspecially like the one with Locker!!! Great Pics Panini and this should be another great year of collecting your products

  18. WOW!!!!!!

Great job, Panini once again. Nameplates are cool, but the Pen Pals is the way to go…whether its by position or team, multi-auto’s are awesome! On card????? It doesn’t get better than that!

  19. “You guys look like your having a great time,in some great California weather”!Thanks for another contest for a chance to be a winner.

  20. the nameplates look so amazing 🙂 and it looks like gridiron gear is going to get the pull out autos again too!!! I love them so much cant wait XD keep up the great work panini and thx u for the awesome contest like always 🙂

  21. I most enjoyed seeing the photos of Cam Newton signing cards and what appears to have been some type of art card. Although, I will admit the vast collection of autographed nameplates was equally exciting.
    War Eagle!

  22. I love seeing the group photo and trying to figure out who will have the greatest impact early. I also like seeing Jake Locker wearing #10 for the Titans because that must mean that Vince Young is surely on the move.

  23. The best photo has to be the one of all the rookies posing together for the group photo. You get a chance to all of them in their pro uniform.

  24. I enjoyed seeing the lettterman’s laying side-by-side with their autographs. But my favorite picture was of Blaine Gabbert holding up the Jaguars logo on the card, while in his jersey.

  25. I love all of the on card autographs you guys had them signing throughout the Premiere. Although I’m not a fan of the manufactured patches, the nameplates did look pretty cool all put together. Full nameplate redemptions? 🙂

  26. I like that the autographed letters look better thought out so that the autographs are legible on them. It’s always been a decent idea that ended up looking terrible in execution. These look like they had space for large autos that didn’t bleed into the fabric.

  27. I love every picture that you guys have posted. Pictures are worth a thousand words and I have an opinion for every photo. My favorite pictures, though, are the ones that show the signed nameplates.

    Thank you very much!

  28. Thanks Panini for giving us a chance to meet and greet some of the top picks @ Best Buy on Friday. Not many companies or people do that to give back to their fans!

  30. i like the pic of the quad auto and the pic of the empty table set up for them to sign with leshoure’s name and where are the bears rookies at

  31. Those nameplates look super nice especially all along side each other! It took me a while but I found the Powell nameplate, and then in the photo with all the rookies. I dont know why my favorite pic might be the one with Ingram holding up the saints card. He looked happy to be there and to be starting his NFL career. Hopefully that will be this year though!

  32. there is nothing like “getting to know you”
thats what we want to know as we crack into packs and find rookie cards.
nothing like early exposure to the players themselves and getting to know them.
as rookies they have so much promise and excitement, and as collectors we have the opportunity to share in that from the very beginning.
enjoy this type of coverage very much and I hope it will continue with NBA draft right around corner 🙂
all the best to Panini, and cant wait and try and pull some of those gems.

  33. My favorite photo is the one of Mikel Leshoure talking to Ingram. I played ball with Mikel in high school and it’s pretty awesome seeing him take part in the rookie photo shoot. I can’t wait to pick up some of his cards and autos!

    1. Not all of them do; it just depends at what point they come to the signing table at this particular station: Either before their action shots (no pads) or after (pads).

  34. The picture I was drawn to was the one of all the players nameplates signed seeing them all together reminded my of all those mini flags I had as a kid and would line up, thumbtacked to my wall…of course none of mine were signed :)~

  35. i think panani really has a grasp on what we collectors get excited about awesome job love to win that hat thanks panani

  36. What a great company, once again putting the fun back into collecting. I mean when those work and have fun it shows in the product. Thanks

  37. If we only had this when we were young, look at the impact sports cards has made in every sports fans life…. Panini u doing your thing keep surprising and bring us the brightest ideas from the Panini empire… Love the leather patches can’t wait its “MOJO” time everybody Cam Newton….1/1… Last thing i will like to thank all the Panini employes that made it possible, good work at the 2011 NFL PLAYERS Rookie Premiere…….

  38. The picture of the full autographed name plates are awesome but I really like the one picture of Titus Young’s nameplate with the box of ’11 Elite, all waiting for him to sign them. Great pictures overall and its awesome that fans get to see all the hard work that goes into making all the great Panini products. Can’t wait for these cards/autos to be packed out!!

  39. I just got back into card collecting last year. I was amazed to see so many of the products I ripped into contained auto/memorabilia from the rookie premiere! Being able to see the 2011 rookies wear the jerseys and equipment and sign the cards was really sweet! All I could think of was a crazy hand cramp after signing 100s of autos like these players had to! I liked the Blaine Gabbert jaguar drawing card. I think these are a really unique and creative idea. As a Chiefs fan, I look forward to pulling some Jon Baldwin autos. Thanks Tracy and Panini! Can’t wait for Prestige and beyond!

  40. Wow!!! Awesome photos from the Rookie Premiere guys! Thank you so much! It is fantastic to see the rookies in their new uniforms already contributing to the hobby by signing autographs. And the actual shots of the autographed cards are truly amazing. The designs are outstanding and I can’t wait for the cards to come out. It should be a great year for collecting.

Thanks for sharing the inside look at the event with us and for the terrific contest!

  41. Thanks for the coverage. I like how Mallett was able to squeeze into the shoot, so all the top 7 QBs are now in 🙂 Can`t wait to crack open some product soon, good way to pass the time until the NFL resolves their issues!

  42. The man of the hour….I hope he does well for Carolina! GREAT JOB PANINI! CANT WAIT TO BUST SOME WAX!

  43. I know this may be a year late but that Panini Tim Tebow Stand-up cut out caught my eye over the Cam Newton hat. I know that’s rediculous. But I jumped on collecting Mr. Tim Tebow stuff, because of Mr. Tracy Hackler promoting his skills. I would appreciate the hat, but I’d let you guys donate it to the Boys & Girls club or somethin’

  44. I like seeing the full name plate with the autographs on every letter. Could they be for National treasures or Limited, hummmmm. And good job on getting the players to sign their name and not just letter scribble letter scribble.

  45. I like the videos this year because it shows you guys are having alot of fun while trying to get some work done at the same time :o)

Favorite picture is the nameplates of course! Those are always my favorite autos to get! Wonder what product(s) they will be used for? 🙂 Hopefully there is more then one of each player!!!!

Either way, good work on the coverage as always Tracy. The Knights Lance blog is the best thing since…. nameplate autos? 😛

  46. I am just so sincerely happy with the public outreach from this blog. It honestly just seems to get batter and better at keeping us collectors up to date and in the know. During this crappy lock out season, it has literally been this blog and the NFL draft that has kept me connected to my love of the NFL. I LOVE seeing the preview of these new card designs, behind the scenes photos and soon to be products. Those Pen Pals card designs look so clean and refreshing, but the photo of all the hand signed nameplates is phenominal.

  47. WOW you guys are lucky to the guys to put all this stuff together, ”work” maybe , I don’t think so. Thank you for bringing IT to us. My favorite photo is all the name plates still together. Cam signing, A.J. Green and the picture of Von holding Von. Thanks again for the contest and your ”work?”. Marty

  48. Hey Tracy & Guys last years Auto helmets were actual Rubber embossed Helmets attached to the card, are we going to see the same thing this year or will it just be the printed Helmets on the card?

  49. P.S. Keep up the good work on the Blog……its awesome….you can’t even get a word out of UD or TOPPS unless you’re Media or a manufacturer. I love all the feed back you give us , Thanks !

  50. wow its good to see all the top rookies in one spot glad to see one of the ravens to be there torrey smith would have been better to see jimmy smith

  51. I just can’t get over the glare of Ryan Williams. He looks as intimidating as anything, like he would run right through anyone, and any team would be thrilled to have his intensity. Kudos to the Panini photographers for this excellent shot, and thanks for another awesome contest!!!

  52. I love the pictures, looks like there is going to be alot in store for us collectors this year, I love the way the nameplates look, and the players look like they are actually having a good time signing everything so that is a plus.

  53. Wow, thanks for the contest Panini, Tracy, and Scott. I hope to win.

I am in a tie between this one:

  55. I love all the pics but the pen pal signings really touched base. Thanks for the great contests !!

  56. Personally my favorite picture is the one of Mikel Leshoure. He played his high school and college ball just down the street from where I live and when Ive met him has seemed like a great guy. My mom even formerly worked with his mother! I really just love that picture because that card he is holding would be a dream of mine to pull from a pack

  57. Man, those are great pics. I like the pic of all the last names with each letter signed. Shoot, makes me wanna bust a football box now!! Thanks fornthe contest and give aways!!

  58. sucks, i missed this one, oh well

      1. Hi Tracy,

Thanks for the contest. Are you also considering the people who commented on the actual post of the pictures (through the link gave in the post above) since many people were under the impression that was how to enter?

        Thanks
        ben

    1. I just know that it would be nice for it to come home, here Atlanta, where it would never leave. Whoever win, let me know, we can work something out.
