The collecting community has been abuzz in the few days since we first previewed our upcoming 2016 Honors Football release, a new product offers collectors the rare opportunity to recapture some of the greatest trading cards in the proud history of Panini America brands. While many of those cards will appear in Honors’ Recollection Collection insert, perhaps the most jaw-dropping examples will be featured in the stunning Originals insert.
Simply, the Originals insert will deliver some of the greatest football cards of the modern era in their original form. The cards will be slabbed. They will not be altered. They will appear in 2016 Honors Football just as they appeared in their original releases. The Originals cards will be easily identifiable by the “Originals” label sealing each One-Touch. But the cards on the checklist need absolutely no explanation. The 1998 Contenders Peyton Manning Rookie Ticket Autograph? Check. The 2000 Contenders Tom Brady Rookie Ticket Autograph? Check. All 18 cards in the landmark 1999 Elite Football Passing the Torch Autographs insert? Check.

In the gallery that follows, we offer a preliminary peek at just some of the juggernauts dotting the Originals checklist. Take a seat, enjoy the imagery and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of 2016 Honors Football.

  1. These are some truly legendary cards in the hobby, can’t wait to see some boxes of Honors broken. I’d love to land any one of those Colts cards from the gallery! Thanks Tracy!
