Although we're still awash in the glow of 2011 Prestige Football and the first officially licensed NFL trading card product of the season, something as cool as the gallery I'm about to show you from 2011 Donruss Elite Football (due out June 22) just can't wait.
Although we’re still awash in the glow of 2011 Prestige Football and the first officially licensed NFL trading card product of the season, something as cool as the gallery I’m about to show you from 2011 Donruss Elite Football (due out June 22) just can’t wait.
So, by all means, continue your pursuit of the two-week-old 2011 Prestige, all the while keeping your eyes on the prizes that await collectors in our second release of the season.
Seen here, for the first time anywhere, are the first Rookie Cards of the season that will include action photography of the 36 sparkling rookies — in their respective NFL uniforms — who attended last month’s 2011 NFL PLAYERS Rookie Premiere in Los Angeles.
While the shimmering foilboard effect of these 36 Rookie Cards (each numbered to a maximum of 999) doesn’t necessarily resonate on the following mock-ups, there’s absolutely no denying the first-time “wow” factor of seeing this season’s most coveted newcomers striking football poses in their professional duds.
But don’t take my word for it. Gawk for yourself . . .
HAH!! Bilal Powell looks like he is running Scared!!
Great looking cards!!
The photos look GREAT, but I honestly think the photos could have easily been placed into the (already existing) vertical layout design vs the horizontal layout above. Still good looking, but could have been great.
Here’s a link to what they could have looked like.

I prefer the horizontal design better.
Great looking cards
Very cool, like when you guys mix it up.
Yuck. Not a fan of the horizontal look. Although that’s probably how the majority of Newton’s season will go.
Tracy –
Why are several players wearing jerseys with the number “00” while others have regular numbers?
Without being able to sign the rookies, teams were not allowed to issue individual numbers. Hence, most players are “00”.
Nice cards. I seen no Cam Newton auto or Mark Ingram auto. Out of prestige. So does that mean they signed a deal with someone. Or Tracy you just didn’t put them in that product?
Mark Ingram has a limited number of autographs in Prestige. Both Cam Newton and Ingram will have autographs in all Panini America products going forward.
Are there going to be any Seahawks rookies in this product? Not a single one in Prestige…
Wow, a very different looking Elite rookie set. I like the nice big close up pictures. The basic design is much cleaner and more simple than in past years. I am anxious to see how the foil board looks in person.
TH, will the base cards have the same horizontal orientation?
That’s a good question, Mojo. I’ll have to look into that on Monday and get back to you.
Great looking cards , can’t wait!
Both Pats RBs are wearing #34….
Is it a photo error where its the same guy on both cards? Dont think so face looks different..
or will all of their Rookie Photo Shoot cards for this year have them both wearing 34??? That would be kinda funny… Whichever one ends up with another number will end up with everyone saying that their RCs all had the wrong guy.
They both wore #34 at the shoot because they don’t have official numbers from the team yet.
“Although we’re still awash in the glow of 2011 Prestige Football” — no offense, but I didn’t like 2011 Prestige! Hoping Elite is better.
