It didn't take long for the Social Signatures autograph concept that Panini America debuted in 2011-12 Elite Hockey to turn into a social sensation. The idea of having 10 social-media-savvy NHL superstars write their Twitter handles on cards they'd just autographed provided an additional level of personalization for collectors -- and exposed hockey cards to millions of fans who live by the chirps of their timelines.
It didn’t take long for the Social Signatures autograph concept that Panini America debuted in 2011-12 Elite Hockey to turn into a social sensation. The idea of having 10 social-media-savvy NHL superstars write their Twitter handles on cards they’d just autographed provided an additional level of personalization for collectors — and exposed hockey cards to millions of fans who live by the chirps of their timelines.
The resulting buzz of what Beckett Media dubbed the world’s first Twittergraphs gained momentum throughout the spring and summer of 2012 as collectors and Twitter addicts alike chased the Social Signatures cards of players such as Paul Bissonnette, Steven Stamkos, Matt Duchene and others. Panini America followed up with 15 new Social Signatures cards in December of 2012 — this time with a nod to some of the game’s all-time greats — in 2012-13 Classics Signatures Hockey.
Clearly, the Social Signatures concept resonated with people across the globe — which is precisely why Panini America has spent the last several months acquiring Social Signatures autographs from more than 70 new players for inclusion in several 2013-14 NHL products, beginning with Friday’s release of 2013-14 Titanium Hockey.
2013-14 Titanium Hockey will feature 10 of the newest Social Signatures subjects (including Andrew Shaw, 2014 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team member Kevin Shattenkirk and Brandon Bollig) on newly designed cards featuring back text that succinctly sums up the featured player’s Twitter presence.
We’ve provided a comprehensive gallery of the new Social Signatures cards below. Let the Tweeting begin.
2013-14 Titanium Hockey releases in Canadian hobby shops on Friday. U.S. collectors can order now exclusively at iCollectPanini.com.

#Hackler sucks
Aaaah, my fan club president chimes in. Appreciate your support. Thanks for reading.
I like the Social Signatures but they only works on twitter and some of them are outdated. I hope to see Nicklas Baäckström also, He do have Twitter. I always try to find the player on Instgram and do a shoutout to them when I post a card. Just check http://instagram.com/paninihockey
These are really cool!
Not really a fan of Twitter but these are definitely cool, any time a player puts more ink on a card I’m in favor of it. Thanks Tracy!
Love It, Will have to try and pull a few!
Love this concept that you guys introduced into the hobby Tracy. Enjoy seeing the players (well most of them lol) include their handles as part of the autograph. A great way to see which players who are on social media to. Another innovative concept from you guys at Panini America. Are you planning on introducing ‘Social Signatures’ into your other sports brands Tracy?
I certainly hope we do.
really like this idea for cards but how old is that Derek Roy? sabres uniform with traded to Stars stamped on it. he is on his 2nd team since leaving Dallas
Yeah, that’s one of the drawbacks of beginning the process SEVERAL months ago.
