Hot on the heels of Panini America’s 2013-14 Titanium Basketball arriving in hobby shops last week, the unique retail version of the product should start hitting retail shelves this week — and when it does, collectors will notice a unique packaging configuration and five different versions of 20 top rookies’ Titanium Rookie Memorabilia RCs. Each $20 retail pack of 2013-14 Titanium Basketball will deliver two Titanium Rookie memorabilia cards, two base cards and one numbered star or rookie card.

Clearly, though, it’s the photo-variation rookie memorabilia cards that will likely create the biggest buzz at the retail level. Panini America’s NBA Product Development team honored 20 of the top rookies from the 2013-14 season with five unique versions of their Titanium Rookie Memorabilia Cards. And to add to the chase, the fifth and final version of each card will be short-printed.

For your viewing pleasure (and to serve as something of a visual checklist), we’ve provided a quick look at some of the cards in the gallery that follows. Enjoy, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional details.

  1. Are the five versions numbered 1 through 5 so collectors will know which is the “fifth and final version” if they happen to pull it?

  2. Interesting concept, any reason that they aren’t numbered? I know the 5th will be SP but how will the average collector know which that is unless they’ve seen the other 4? Thanks Tracy!
