There’s something undeniably eye-catching about obsidian. The glassy black rock with smooth faces and fractured edges is formed when lava cools rapidly, leaving a dark, slick stone.

Panini brings that same glimmer to Obsidian Soccer — known for its stylish black opti-chrome and die-cut inserts — which is back for the sixth consecutive season in 2024-25.

Panini 2024-25 Obsidian Soccer features some of the slickest players from around the world on some of the hobby’s most striking designs. Several figures from recent LaLiga winners are included, such as star FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski. For Atlético de Madrid, Julián Alvarez heads up a rock-solid squad that’s always in the title mix. Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappé bears the torch for a fiery Real Madrid team.

On the Italian scene, Rafael Leão provides an attacking spark for AC Milan and Lautaro Martínez pours in strikes for Internazionale. There are also plenty of newcomers on display, like Marc Bernal, who emerged from Barcelona’s famed academy. Real Madrid defensive starlet Joan Martinez is on Obsidian’s roster as well.

The national scene is also well-represented. Lionel Messi headlines the Argentina pool, which is chock-full of world-class players. Lamine Yamal is the face of a new generation of Spanish stars.

Be on the lookout for breakout international stars, too. Maximilian Beier has risen through the ranks for Germany, while Lily Yohannes makes waves with the U.S. Women’s National Team.

And that’s just the start for USWNT fans. In the renowned hobby box, Panini is highlighting a special autograph insert featuring all 20 players from the squad that won the FIFA Women’s World Cup 1999™ on home soil. Plus, select members of the USWNT Class of 2019 are also included, with that group emerging victorious at the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ in France that year.

Here’s the full hobby box breakdown, on average:

  • Four Autographs or Memorabilia Cards
  • One Parallel
  • One Insert or Insert Parallel
