When alarm clocks started ringing early Sunday morning, NBA fans around the globe started turning to the sports section of their local papers to read the box scores from their favorite teams’ first-round playoff games. The NBA entertained us by scheduling four games to begin the 2010-11 playoffs.
But NBA fans in Dallas and Miami were treated to something extra special Sunday morning, Panini America’s official NBA sticker album. Officials at Panini America successfully inserted sticker albums into the Sunday editions of The Dallas Morning News and Miami Herald. Close to one million albums and six million stickers will be distributed FREE today in the two cities. In addition to the album, Sunday papers in Dallas will feature six FREE stickers over the next three weeks while Miami will insert the FREE stickers over the next two. Stickers include Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, John Wall, Derrick Rose and many more.
The massive marketing efforts are just part of Panini America’s plan to distribute the sticker albums and introduce new collectors to the industry. The build-up to the newspaper promotion started at the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles, with massive giveaways occurring with the Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards and Miami Heat.
The official NBA sticker album features 378 stickers and packets retail for $1. Those working to complete the album can find them at participating retailers including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Learning Express, Modell’s, Navarro, Sports Authority, Walgreens, Walmart, Target and other fine retailers.
You can also find the stickers online at the Panini America store.
