Kevin Durant Autographs Highlight 2010-11 Absolute Memorabilia Basketball
Basketball collectors rejoice. Kevin Durant autographs are finally headed to Panini America products.
Indeed, signatures from Oklahoma City’s dynamic, collection-making dynamo are sure to inject additional excitement and value into 2010-11 Absolute Memorabilia Basketball when that perennial hit-yielding machine releases March 6.
In addition to the unprecedented luster that piggybacks the addition of Durant’s John Hancock, 2010-11 Absolute Memorabilia will stay true to its hit-per-pack legacy with each four-pack box delivering four autograph or memorabilia cards, four other inserts and one Retired Greats numbered to 499 or less.
The product’s 150-card base set is bolstered by 15 short-printed Rookies and 35 of the aforementioned Retired Greats. Each box will yield at least one Rookie Premiere Materials Signature numbered to 499 or less. Something for diehard set collectors to keep in mind: There will be just 449 base sets available.
“There are so many working parts to Absolute, which has been a big part of this brand’s identity both in basketball and in other sports,” says Panini America Basketball Brand Manager Mike Payne. “Whenever you’re looking at building a set, there’s always some exciting aspects to the process, but there’s always some concern, too, with the lineup. Do you keep a proven formula that works? Or do you shake it up just for the sake of shaking it up? Ultimately, we chose to stay with what works – high-quality cards, a challenging base set, key autograph signers and – for the first time in Absolute – Kevin Durant autographs.
“We recognize the significance of what Absolute means to collectors and box busters. For that, Absolute remains a hit-driven product, with two autographs and two memorabilia cards per four-pack box.”
