National Signing Days, Panini America Style
In a whirlwind week earmarked by massive marketing activation at some of the most prestigious sporting events in the world, the Panini America team managed to conduct two successful show appearances simultaneously (the 2011 NHL All-Star Game in Raleigh, N.C., and Super Bowl XLV) and more player autographs than National Signing Day, which, coincidentally, took place Wednesday.
Indeed, from NHL All-Stars to an NBA Rookie of the Year candidate to NFL All-Pros to potential-packed NFL draft prospects, autographs were dispensed with feverish aplomb all week long for Panini America officials.
Last weekend, more than 40 NHL All-Stars signed at both the 2011 NHL All-Star Game host hotel and at the Panini America booth inside the Raleigh Convention Center during the 2011 NHL Fan Fair. That was followed Monday by a signing session with Washington Wizards superstar rookie — and Panini exclusive — John Wall.
A few days later, at the 2011 Pop Warner Panini Adrenalyn Bowl in Arlington, Texas, Panini America guests Brandon Lloyd, the Pro Bowl wide receiver of the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb and 2011 NFL draft quarterbacking prospects Ryan Mallett (Arkansas) and Andy Dalton (TCU) signed autographs before and after schooling kids on the finer points of football. All the while, 20 miles away inside the Panini America booth at the 2011 Super Bowl XLV NFL Experience, St. Louis Rams rookie tight end Fendi Onobun was flashing his signature moves for a steady queue of fans.
All in all it was a wild, winning week full of countless photo ops, many of which are shown below.
Stay tuned next week for complete coverage of all of Panini America’s Super Bowl week activities, including some truly can’t-miss videos.
