Hoops on the Routing Table: Playoff Contenders Patches, Absolute Memorabilia
Before hitting the road to Orlando, Fla., earlier this week for the 54th Annual Pop Warner Super Bowl, I wandered by the routinely revealing Routing Table to see what I could see.
And what I could see was the preliminary design packet for 2010-11 Absolute Memorabilia Basketball, some Rookie of the Year Contenders images from 2010-11 Playoff Contenders Patches and the box artwork for 2010-11 Crown Royale Hockey.
On the way to the table I also snapped a quick image of the heaping pile of approvals on the filing cabinet of Chris Reed, Panini America‘s licensing liaison. In case you’re wondering, that’s not all the routings that have been trafficked through the proper channels this season, just those that have been through the system most recently.
Oh, and because we showed you a few weeks ago the early packaging configurations for 2010-11 Donruss Basketball, we figured it only appropriate to show you the finished product, too.
One thing to note on the Absolute Basketball preliminary design packet: You’ll notice some player names and team names that don’t match up. Those aren’t errors. Those are there by design — literally. When creating the first wave of designs, our graphic designers will typically incorporate the longest possible names for sizing purposes, to ensure that every player and team name will work with every design.
