Written by: Kara Gates
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to consider everything you’re thankful for. For college volleyball fans, Texas should be pretty high up on that list. Especially after that bounce-back match against Mississippi State on Nov. 6, 2024. Longhorns’ supporters probably want to celebrate that win and show appreciation for the players, and we’re here to help with a recap of the nation’s No. 15 team’s performance.
Every Texas player, who are included under Panini’s NIL umbrella, had a phenomenal night, helping the Longhorns hit .372 with 11 blocks while holding the Bulldogs to a .133 hitting percentage.
Brining glee and gratefulness in bounds, Madisen Skinner put on a fantastic showing, posting a season-high 25 kills to go along with a .408 hitting percentage. She also notched her third-straight double-double and her fifth of the campaign with 10 digs.
Ayden Ames and Emma Halter had prime performances as well, with Ames tying her career high of eight kills and leading the team with seven blocks, and Halter finishing with 15 digs, half a dozen assists plus three service aces. Both outputs proved worthy of plenty of appreciation.
The energizing 3-1 win helped inject Texas with some much-needed moxie and is sure to help them keep that vigor through the end of the season, something any Texas volleyball fan is sure to be thankful for.
Perhaps the best way to show your gratitude would be to pick up some cards of your favorite Longhorns players. You can pick up these collectibles of the volleyball superstars above, as well as several others, on the Panini America website. Whether you get your hands on some cards or not, you’ll absolutely want to follow along with the Longhorn ladies as they work their way toward the NCAA Tournament.
