The Panini America Drool Gallery: Must-See Memorabilia Cards Coming to 2013 National

I absolutely love when Panini America marketing comrade Scott Prusha ventures to the company production facility. He doesn't go over there very often, but when he does, it's a sure bet that fireworks will ensue. And so it was earlier this week, when Prusha was on site to finish packing out Panini America's 2013 National Sports Collectors Convention wrapper-redemption program.

I absolutely love when Panini America marketing comrade Scott Prusha ventures to the company production facility. He doesn’t go over there very often, but when he does, it’s a sure bet that fireworks will ensue. And so it was earlier this week, when Prusha was on site to finish packing out Panini America’s 2013 National Sports Collectors Convention wrapper-redemption program.

Prusha Tweeted a handful of tantalizing sneak-peek pics from his field trip, providing just enough of the magic to come next week to keep collectors glued to the Panini America Twitter account for the better part of Tuesday afternoon. Luckily for all of us, Prusha snapped way more than the seven or so pics he Tweeted. Over the course of the next few days, we’re going to share them all with you.

Today we’re going to provide an extended preview of the Panini America National set’s player-worn and player-used memorabilia cards, a captivating assortment of unique gems incorporating jerseys, footballs, gloves and hats. In addition, you’ll also spy below some key additions to the Panini America employee-worn memorabilia set that pick up where last year’s debut left off.

The real stars of the memorabilia-card lineup this year, though, are likely to be the plush-prime swatches of the sweat-soaked towel cards and the downright tacky brilliance of the player-worn glove cards — both of which were worn and acquired during May’s 2013 NFLPA Rookie Premiere.

But collectors will also find the first memorabilia cards of 2012-13 NHL rookie superstar Nail Yakupov, jersey cards from NBA stars Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis, and the first towel card of none other than Kobe Bryant.

Their inclusions speak to the unique collectibility of Panini America’s 2013 National wrapper-redemption set, and should help you understand in advance why the company’s booth next week in Chicago will be the talk of the show. Enjoy the preview gallery and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance tomorrow for a sneak peek at some of the National set’s autograph possibilities.

  3. These types of products are always a great way to advertise and get a whole new young generation involved as well as novices like me! I love products that are varied in the sets, base, inserts, parallels, autos, relics, and the all time hits like 1/1, printing plates, and Superfractors! Panini has embraced the idiom and continues to be leaders in the industry.

  4. Wow!

      1. Cool! Nothing beats being there of course, but being able to get the packs via online order does help. Glad my boys and I got there last year. I think it is in Atlantic City in a few years-should be able to get out to that one in person.

  5. I’m going to be honest with you Panini. Towel cards are bordering on to much. There is so much more game used equipment you could put in the cards. Helmets, ball, shoes, gloves, jersey, heck even pants but the sweaty towel is kinda silly.

  6. Tracy and Gang did a good job AGAIN brining it with the memorabilia cards, only thing I wish is you made those pieces on the gloves bigger, but I understand why you couldnt. These will make some great additions to my ever expanding set. LOVING IT!

  7. Great ideas in these pics! Towel and glove cards from the rookies are great and unique. What im exited for is the T-shirt cards from the guys over at Panini.

    1. Now Tracy, how many t-shirts did you guys model?? Did you have your own Panini Rookie Premiere photo shoot??? Did you need your own Panini logo towels to wipe your sweat on afterwards? Were these shirts office-worn? Can you tie them to specific Panini Unwrapped episodes? Come on, inquiring minds want to know!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!

      1. Funny. My particular shirt this year was worn many times, including during the 2012 NFLPA Rookie Premiere. The back of this card shows me wearing the shirt while interviewing none other than RG III.

  8. Me and my Father just booked out Hotel for the National Convention We decided yesterday we will be driving from OKC to Chicago next week! Woot!

How does the wrapper redemption program work? How can I get my hands on one of these fly cards??

  9. Love the memorabilia swatches! Any chance a fun contest could be created by guessing correctly what Scott and Tracy’s Middle Names are? Winner has to get both correct and then they get to choose one card from the National promotion. Anybody can win though because it’s a hardball question. Let me know what you think-

  10. Sick stuff. I like the towels and gloves. I like unique inclusions!

However..if Scotty P is the brains behind the operation..why not Scott mem card this year?
