In order to remain successful on the field, any good football team knows it's imperative to continue refining, improving and expanding its playbook -- and that's precisely why Panini America officials have raised the bar considerably on 2012 Playbook Football, the highly anticipated sequel to last season's debut product that seeks to redefine the NFL booklet card genre.
In order to remain successful on the field, any good football team knows it’s imperative to continue refining, improving and expanding its playbook — and that’s precisely why Panini America officials have raised the bar considerably on 2012 Playbook Football, the highly anticipated sequel to last season’s debut product that seeks to redefine the NFL booklet card genre.
To that end, the company has redesigned the base Rookie Booklet RCs for 2012, incorporating intricate acetate die-cutting, player-worn memorabilia on both sides of the booklet and a shadow-box effect for the on-acetate autograph window, signaling an exciting new chapter for the category and pushing the creative limits on booklet-card possibilities. The results, as you’ll see in the preview gallery below, are quite spectacular.
In addition to those design enhancements, company officials also have added several unique phrase, nickname and characteristic die-cut versions (including some featuring eight pieces of memorabilia) for each of the 35 players who appear in the Playbook Materials rookie subset, and we offer a telling tease of those below, too.
The following cards are fresh from the Panini America production facility and have already been counted, cataloged and expedited to the respective players on them for signing. The next time you see these beauties, they’ll be autographed. But this early pre-ink peek should whet your appetite until then.
Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional updates.

Nice! And thanks for the kind words.
Are those white ones with the faded shield only 1/1s or are the base RCs like those too? Because those look AWESOME!!!
I really hate the spelled-out word patches, but everything else is great about these.
Wow, these look awesome! Especially love the patches in the Tannehill ‘1STROUND’. But must say the Osweiler 1/1 patches a little dissapointing. Too much white!
Keep up the good work regardless guys!
The shadow box silhouette books are an elevated level of Sick. These Books are looking AMAZING. I am truly wowed. Tracy is there any truth to there being multiple books in this years product?

Mind blown. These are amazing. The dueling patches + that shadow box effect looks beautiful.
Pretty fantastic looking gallery, it’s bittersweet to see multiple Colts booklets as I know I will have to spend the funds to chase them. Last year’s (De)lone inclusion made it a pretty simple endeavor. Thanks for the preview Tracy!
You know this is what I have been waiting for all season, and those Tannehills are the best.
This is a great job Panini and I am glad that this product was brought back again by Panini. Can’t wait for the Tannehill.
