Tracker & Gallery: 2011 Playoff Contenders Football Black Golden Tickets (32 images)

April 05, 2012

It’s hard to believe more than a year has passed since Panini America ignited the “Great Gold Rush of 2010” with the release of the groundbreaking Golden Tickets 14kt gold trading cards that were inserted into 2010 Playoff Contenders Football.
That product launched a still-ongoing international mining expedition that carried over into hockey (2010-11 Playoff Contenders) and basketball (2010-11 Gold Standard). But a new hunt began recently with the release of 2011 Playoff Contenders Football and a whole new array of Black Golden Tickets currently creating considerable buzz in the collecting universe.

What follows is the list of the 2011 Playoff Contenders Football Black Golden Tickets that have been redeemed so far through the Panini America system, and exactly where they’re headed. It’s worth noting that — once again this season — many of the 52 new cards have sold on the secondary market for well more than $1,000, including Arian Foster, Aaron Rodgers, Jake Locker and Colin Kaepernick.
After you’ve perused the following list of Black Golden Tickets redeemed so far, be sure to check out the first extensive viewing of many of the Black Golden Tickets themselves.
