Two Hendersons, One National Treasures & the Greatest Finish in Video-Break History

April 13, 2011

Loyal readers of The Knight’s Lance will no doubt remember yesterday’s post about rock guitarist Marcus Henderson riffing out the National Anthem on an amplifier cleverly constructed from an empty 2009 National Treasures Football box by reader Amarin Cogburn.

Well, today — as promised — we bring you the can’t-miss conclusion to the story. And it has to be seen to be believed.

As reported yesterday, we sent Henderson a box of 2010 National Treasures Football in exchange for recording — exclusively for us — his stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. In addition, Henderson also agreed to record a special Panini Unwrapped episode with his National Treasures box.

So he sat down recently with Scott Henderson, his brother and lifelong collecting comrade, for a box bust that absolutely must be considered an instant classic.

“As you know, we’re big-time collectors together and the National Treasures video shot in my studio room — hence the cheap sound-proofing — illustrates how emotional we can get when we’re together,” Marcus said. “You provided a lifetime memory for us and we are grateful.

“Oh, yeah, any brief skips in the video are from me editing out any expletives that resulted from our uncensored reaction to the last card we pulled.”

What card was that? Watch for yourself and you’ll also see one of the greatest reactions in box-break history . . .
