Panini America Delivers a Detailed Sneak Peek at the Upcoming 2020 Obsidian Football

Panini America officials recently sent out preliminary Product Information Solicitations for several exciting new products coming soon to a hobby shop or online retailer near you. Today, we’re sharing that same information with you here on The Knight’s Lance, this time featuring the Optichrome-enhanced beauty that is Obsidian Football.

In the product preview that follows, we’ll showcase a must-see bevy of preliminary images from 2020 Obsidian Football as well as the product’s hobby, 1st Off The Line and T-Mall PIS documents.

Estimated Release Date: December 2, 2020
Product Configuration: Seven cards per box, 12 boxes per case.
BOX BREAK: Four autograph or memorabilia cards, two parallels or inserts and one base card per hobby box, on average. Black Color Blast and Contra fall roughly once per case, respectively.

  • Obsidian Football combines sleek, black Optichrome technology with Electric Etch parallels to provide collectors a stunning look unlike any other product.
  • Chase some of the best veteran- and retired-player autographs in Matrix Material Autos, Lightning Strike and Aurora Autos.
  • Look for stunning such as Tunnel Vision, Supernova and Vitreous.
  • New for 2020, chase the short-printed and spectacular Color Blast Black inserts. This insert takes the phenomenal Color Blast insert from Prizm Football and adds an Obsidian twist for a beautiful, must-have card.
  • Find patch autographs from all the top 2020 NFL rookies, including Joe Burrow, Chase Young, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert and many more.
