Panini America Offers Detailed First Look at 2016 Prestige Football (Preview Gallery)

Today, you're going to discover that Panini America also is preparing to completely revamp the Prestige Football franchise. There's a new product logo . . . a redesigned, full-bleed base card . . . and a dramatically different hobby configuration that is, in a word, huge. What's not new for 2016 Prestige Football is that it continues the longstanding brand tradition of delivering the first NFL Rookie Cards updated with 2016 NFL Draft information.

As Panini America steadfastly finishes up the 2015 NFL trading card season with a pair of bona fide heavy hitters (2015 National Treasures Football and 2015 Flawless Football), company officials also are firmly focused on kicking off the 2016 season with a bang, too. You already know about the likes of 2016 Contenders Draft Picks Football (releasing next week), 2016 Prizm Collegiate Draft Picks Football, the iconic 2016 Score Football and the triumphant return of Classics Football.

Today, you’re going to discover that Panini America also is preparing to completely revamp the Prestige Football franchise. There’s a new product logo . . . a redesigned, full-bleed base card . . . and a dramatically different hobby configuration that is, in a word, huge. What’s not new for 2016 Prestige Football is that it continues the longstanding brand tradition of delivering the first NFL Rookie Cards updated with 2016 NFL Draft information.

Each hobby box will deliver four massive 40-card packs. Featured among those 160 cards, on average, will be four autographs (including at least one veteran autograph), 40 Rookie Cards, four parallels and 24 inserts (four NFL Passport, four Draft Big Board, four Blue Chip Recruits, four Banner Season, one Team Logo, one NFL Shield, one All-American, one Inside the Numbers, two Draft Picks and two Super Bowl Heroes).

Other highlights of 2016 Prestige Football include . . .

  • Draft Day Signatures featuring on-card autographs from the top players attending the 2016 NFLPA Rookie Premiere; look for rare Red Ink and Green Ink variations.
  • Find 10 Rookie Cards per pack and the return short-printed RCs.
  • The return of the popular Super Bowl Heroes micro-etched insert. Look for Super Bowl legends from the past all the way up to Super Bowl 50.
  • The popular acetate NFL Shield insert is back for 2016 and features a die-cut version numbered to just 25.
  • Look for autographs from top NFL veterans and from the top players selected in the 2016 NFL Draft along with the following Xtra Points parallels: Red, Purple, Gold, Platinum and Black.
  • The Banner Season Ink autograph set features past and current stars and focuses on their best statistical seasons.
  • The checklist includes 100 Rookie Cards, including 10 Short Prints that will fall roughly two per case.
