Drool Gallery: 2010-11 Donruss Basketball

From the day I first saw the preliminary designs for 2010-11 Donruss Basketball, I was convinced it would be one of the most spectacular-looking hoops sets of the decade. That feeling was only intensified when I saw some of the inserts being printed last week.

From the day I first saw the preliminary designs for 2010-11 Donruss Basketball, I was convinced it would be one of the most spectacular-looking hoops sets of the decade. That feeling was only intensified when I saw some of  the inserts being printed last week.

Now that the product has been printed and the Panini America basketball product development team has completed the quality control process, I can now say, unequivocally, that the images you’re about to see originate from a product that is one of the most spectacular-looking hoops sets of the decade.

That’s right, I said it. But don’t just take my word for it. Do yourself a favor and treat your eyes to the following gallery, which includes just some of the highlights from a product that majestically melds the best old-school elements with the necessary new-world niceties.

Do yourself a favor and pick some up when 2010-11 Donruss releases January 5.

  1. I’m still on the fence about this set. I’d really like to see a checklist to get a feel for player coverage. Does anyone know if there will be a base Panini product or even – dare I say – a Score basketball product?

  2. The standard Donruss foil logo is silver. I’ve gotten several green logos but I don’t think any were numbered. Today I pulled a blue logo. Good ’cause it’s numbered out of 49.
Better because it was LeBron. The jersey card in the pack was Al Jefferson.
Also picked up an Epix football pack, which had an Odyssey double jersey.
